At the End of the Week.
Sep. 13th, 2008 05:24 pmAfter all the rain we've had in England of late, today is sunny, so I'm celebrating that fact with a sunny picture for my icon.
There's still no sight of the phone and despite rigorous interrogations of the children no 'supergrass' has come forward to reveal the culprit. Put it down to experience and move on. The good news is that T-Mobile have provided me with a new sim card, so that I have my number back, and I've managed to claim for a new phone. I am able to communicate again, thankfully. These days I don't think we realise just how much we rely on our cell/mobile phones until we can't use them. Even if you don't use them much, I bet you'd feel the loss if you didn't have it.
Anyhoo... watched 'The Queen' and I'm still thinking on it. May have to watch it again. Some interesting things in there, which sadly I doubt the writers will follow up on at all... which will make me extremely unhappy. Maybe I should have posted this separately so that I could christen my 'No, I'm not stupid! Sometimes I'm just written that way!" icon.
Finally here are some 'English Language' funnies, from my 'Teachers' calendar, that Mir gave me for christmas last year...
Why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham?
Why do we call it a pineapple, when it contains neither pine nor apple?
Why do we have noses that run and feet that smell?
(by Richard Lederer, from yesterday's calendar.)

Glad you got a new phone.
