Still, it is the heart's capacity to rise one more time after falling down, no matter how bruised, that verifies that such a drive lives in us too. Like salmon, our way depends not just on facing things head on, but in moving our whole being through.
I will openly admit, if you ask me, that I do not deal well with disappointment, and yet, I can be one of the most tenatious people I know. How can those two things both be true at the same time?
In the spirit of that thought, I'm somewhat nervous to have sent one of my short stories out today to Daily Science Fiction for their consideration.
If you're into sci-fi it's an interesting website, and, if you sign up to their email list, they'll send you a new story to read every week day. I've been reading their stories for some time, and while I don't like all of them, for the most part I enjoy reading them.
Anyway, they have my story for consideration, and I have several other option open to me if they don't want it, and I will keep on going until I get it out there.
