Given that we've had about another 4" of snow overnight - and it's still falling...
Given that our local highways maintenance people are running out of salt-grit...
Given that the local emergency services have /told/ people not to go out unless it's absolutely necessary...
Given that the met office has issued a severe weather warning for our local area...
Given that, after all, we have a duty of care to the children...

Thank goodness for that... It's worse here than it was at the start of the week -think this is going to cap the week off for a lot of schools, unless it really melts off this afternoon there's going to be far too much ice about tomorrow.
