Title: Enmity
Rating: R (mature readers)
Spoilers:Spoilers for S1-4, (specifically Michael (but who hasn't seen that by now?) and some episodes from the beginning of the official season 5
Summary: As the team continues to battle a powerful Wraith faction, Teyla wakes in the infirmary on Atlantis. She has no memory of what Michael has done to her; knows only one thing... he has her son. Upset by repeated attempts at debriefing, because she cannot - or will not, as certain expedition members insist - tell them what happened, what will she do when Woolsey pushes her too hard... too far?
Disclaimer:MGM own Stargate: Atlantis. This story is for entertainment purposes only and no revenue is being made from copyright material. No infrigement intended.
Act 1 and Act 2 now available.
Author's Note: Only thing I really want to note here, for now at least, is that I thought long and hard about it, and finally made the decision to change the name of Teyla's son. This was done in order to create a little distance from the TV Season 5. Oh, and I should probably also give warning of a character death in this story.
Previous Episodes:
Harm's Way (1) and Chain of Command (2) can be accessed here.
Enmity - Act 2: review part 1
Date: 2008-10-16 10:22 pm (UTC)Is SUCH an ass! If you threat Teyla like the enemy, she’s more inclined to become one.
If I were her, and I would ever see him off world, after I was with Michael, and therefore categorised as ‘evil’, I’d slit his throat, or beat the crap out of him, or… I’ll figure some other things out that involves the death of him. Pfft.
He seems to think that her excuses are running low, or how does one say that, but how long has she been in Atlantis, now?
**
No matter how hard she had tried, time and again since she had woken there on Atlantis, she had been unable to find the missing memories of her time as Michael's prisoner.
She would be in for a surprise, were she to know all of it immediately… *g*
That unfortunately familiar feeling of not being entirely trusted resurfaced as Carson Beckett nodded his head to acknowledge what she'd said.
Ouch. I wonder if our Teyla has that too, still… I know she didn’t agree on the capture and experiments on Michael, but… I don’t know if it’s much more outside of that.
The feeling of being 'press-ganged,' that was beginning to smother her, only increased when, from the doorway, Sheppard added sarcastically, "You remember those guys? Long white hair, bad attitude, tendency toward making a meal out of your people…"
What jerks! Poor Teyla, being treated that way!
*Shoves her to Mikey’s side*
There. He has cookies.
"The subject needs to be—"
Yes? :P
Oh, and what a strange moment to interrupt her thoughts… Is he hiding something from her, or from us? *g* ‘Us’, right?
He was as she remembered him, his short, whitish hair standing spiked above his frowning face; his Wraith features pronounced on an almost human looking face.
Like in Vengeance? She doesn’t remember much of him from before, not really his face, I guess, so she might think he still looks like that?
"You have asked me that once before," he said softly, "And my answer now is as then: I care a great deal."
Aaawwweee. Of course he had to take her memories! After all, can’t have her spread around Atlantis how ‘sweet’ he’d been to her at times, right?
She has to appear a bit traumatized, as they expect that kind of treatment from him, and she has to be there for a while, until he’s ready with some of his plans and she can come back to him, again? Unless he needs a spy over there… Then she might be in for a longer stay.
With a small spatula he carefully applied the paste he had made over the wounds on her neck.
That potion, does it work for her for real? Lol. No more need to have a doctor who makes house calls…
Or maybe he *is* one of those… *g*
His arms came around her, one behind her back, the other beneath her knees as he effortlessly lifted her and began to carry her across the roundhouse toward where the low, pillowed bed awaited.
*Watches Major Hollick’s eyes almost pop out of their sockets as Teyla’s floating through her room towards her bed*
“Woooolseeeyyy!!!”
Bwahahaha.
Or didn’t it happen like that? The getting her to the bed part, I mean.
"This is as it must be,"
The loss of memories?
"We must do this, and then you must rest… trust me…"
Do what? The next part: ?
His heart beat strongly beneath her fingers, even as a tight wave of pain came crashing over her.
She cried out, and pressed her hands against her belly as she woke, gasping for breath.
Why was Teyla suddenly in pain?
He touches her, seemingly in a random way, but the result is her being in pain in her belly? Or is it her hands, where he touched her, that were in pain? Lol. Or am I digging for the wrong kind of info?
On the tail of that thought she pressed her forearm hard against the corner of her bed frame until she winced from the dull pain of it,…
Why did she do that?

Date: 2008-10-16 10:59 pm (UTC)The subject need to be... intelligent maybe?
You know he's hiding things, you just know he is.
Yes, Teyla is remembering Michael as she saw him in Vengeance. She does not remember having seen him since then, so... Vengeance it is. There are many reasons he had to take her memory - his own security being one of them.
Nope, doesn't work for real... she needs real doctors. Of course it could be the subconscious manifestation of her Wraith DNA speeding up her healing... but then Keller did say she thought it would scar.
Nope, fraid not... no levitating Teyla's floating into bed. She walked, just has no memory of doing it. Kind of sleepwalking.
If I told you what they had to do, I would have to feed on you... I mean, kill you.
Teyla was in sudden pain because she was 'remembering' her labour... yes you were digging for entirely the wrong thing.
Teyla pressed her arm against the bed to check that it hurt, to check that she'd really woken up this time. If you remember, in the last part she had a 'false awakening.'
Re: Enmity - Act 2: review part 1
Date: 2008-10-17 05:26 pm (UTC)And...? Go on... ^_^
Getting an intelligent isn't smart... :S
Of course he's keeping things from her... For starters, all she witnessed when she was with him, but then there's soooo much more about him, his previous life, the way he wants to spend his life now, the war he wants to have, etc... So should Teyla make the decision to go with him, she has to kinda agree with all of that, know all of that, to accept it, and join his cause... Now, I hope that Michael gets that's the only way she'll be completely his, and she isn't just there 'because he makes her feel good' or something... Well, you know what I mean.
The only things I think she can remember now are Michael leaving her behind at the compound, the part where she couldn't see her baby, but she was probably too out of it to remember what he looks like, and there's the part with the vial, where she was, once again, about unconscious... How many times did she pass out in his presence? Lol. Seems like he carried her around on daily basis. *g*
Is there a reason why Michael wants to keep his appearance a secret? I don't know if he goes on a lot of missions himself, at least not where people need to see him?
We'll see who's the better healer, Michael, or Keller. :P
*g* It would explain why her room wasn't immediately invaded by Hollick. So sweet of Michael to put her to bed like that.
Nice addition of the 'kill you' part. If not, there was always a chance that I'd come back. :D
Yay! *Needs to get an extra shovel*
Oh yeah, okay. Couldn't she just pinch herself like normal people do?
Hope you had a safe flight!

Re: Enmity - Act 2: review part 1
Date: 2008-10-19 09:35 pm (UTC)Everything will become apparent to her and in context in the not to distant future... :) At least I think it will. He probably did carry her around quite a lot... yes. He wanted to be sure that she didn't injure herself.
No, there's no reason Michael wants to keep his appearance a secret, at least not from Teyla. Most of the time he does the 'evil genius' planning and sends his hybrids out to do the work... though in the case of the Haradians he did have a hand in that himself... and we have yet to see what he plans to do with Lisstha.
It would depend on who or what needs healing I guess. :)
And she just wasn't awake enough to think of pinching herself at the time. :)
Enmity - Act 2: review part 2
Date: 2008-10-16 10:26 pm (UTC)Great! Let’s alienate her a little more yet again, shall we?
"And given some of the things you've said to Colonel Sheppard, I'm not entirely sure that I should; that anyone should."
Kitchen knives, a lot of them. Aaaand… target practice!
It’s not correct, what he says, right? About her hiding behind ‘I can’t remember’ because something else happened that she can’t get over, or how did he put that? Nah. I don’t think Michael wants her to go spread words about him around on Atlantis. Right?
So nice she apparently gets shoved into a corner by something Sheppard said?
**
"Do not touch me!"
She sure ain’t using that one on Michael! :P
her eyes glazed – unseeing
Er, Michael isn’t doing the kicking for her, right? Or manipulating her in any way that she gets herself in trouble with her friends, loses them, so she’s ready for him? You said that he’d be mad at the kind of treatment they are giving her?
**
"Don't speak unless you are addressed, don't look her in the eyes, do not attempt to touch her, and above all—"
Duh. ^^
(on what he said, as well as him never getting to finish it)
"If she is to serve, she must hear my needs without fainting in my presence."
Faint wherever you want, but NOT in my presence… Lol.
Vega blinked in surprise. "You… you knew him? Who was he? How did he—"
Todd blinked, and snapped himself out of whatever introspective thought he had fallen into.
Did she hit some kind of nerve?
**
Oh, more info on the Wraith and what they were doing to the system. I’m curious as to what that ‘hunch’ of Rodney’s was.
Oh boy.
**
"I was going to the infirmary to see if Doctor Keller might be able to help me express some of my milk."
Shouldn’t Doctor Keller have given her a pill to stop the production of milk?
He had been guarding the corridor, and only one person on the base would have ordered such a blatant assault on her liberty… Richard Woolsey.
Well, he sure does do his best to keep the base secure, can’t argue with that. Question is, how many more people are actually going to be *in* that base, in a few months time? Everybody will have turned their backs on him.
**
As Todd came into view in the doorway, Vega tugged at the scant clothing she had been given, to try and cover herself more than was possible with such revealing garments.
Exactly how revealing are those clothes? *g*
Anyone wanna do a picture? Lol.
Bummer we didn’t get to see nothing of Todd’s ‘lessons’ with Vega… Unless there were non. *g*
"That one has been allowed far too great a liberty. It is time we reminded it of its place."
Vega began to shiver at the tone in her voice, but then frowned in confusion as a certain degree of a feeling almost like a longing washed over her.
When I read that sentence the first time, I thought she meant Atlantis, but on the second read, it could even refer to Michael? So, which one is it?
Hmm, what does that one ‘long’ for? First it was apparently Todd, now it’s something, or someone, else? Like I said: hmm.

Re: Enmity - Act 2: review part 2
Date: 2008-10-16 11:08 pm (UTC)No, Michael's not doing the kicking for her.
Todd's a wraith. He doesn't want to tell everyone /everything/... but we already suspect from Harms Way that Todd and Michael might know each other.
-Did you think I would forget-
Rodney is very close to making a major breakthrough about the Wraith in this system. He just needs to finish putting 2 and 2 together - with Keller's help of course. I wonder if they're going to be able to do that, after the next part. *evil grin*
Keller didn't give Teyla the pill to stop her milk yet, because they were holding out hope that they'd find Nethaiye at which point he would need her milk, so...
Vega's clothes are quite revealing... low cut, high cut... not much in the middle...
Generally speaking the Queen refers to Michael as an 'it' yes.... at the moment.
Re: Enmity - Act 2: review part 2
Date: 2008-10-17 05:37 pm (UTC)I'm really looking forward to the boys meeting each other. And I really hope they have a chance at doing so on telly... Imagine a scene between Connor and Chris... Thunk.
The next part? The meeting, you mean?
There's little chance of Teyla getting the baby back so quickly, so maybe she'll come to realize that nursing him isn't meant to be... :(
So everything is basically cut. Lol. Poor Todd, such temptation... I wonder if the maidens have to entertain the boys, too... *g*
'At the moment'? Does the Queen know who he is? Did Todd tell her he at least suspects whom it is? You're going to name him? Or, she doesn't have to call him anything other than 'it' if she doesn't live long enough to do otherwise... ^_^
Spikey
Re: Enmity - Act 2: review part 2
Date: 2008-10-19 09:39 pm (UTC)Yes, it will become apparent that it's not meant for Teyla to be nursing her little boy...
LOL at the thought of Todd and the Tempation... I wonder if the maidens have to entertain the boys too...
If I told you that - yes, the Queen does know who he is, what would be your next question I wonder.
Enmity - Act 2: review part 3
Date: 2008-10-16 10:44 pm (UTC)The first part, with the ‘panic’ thing in it, seems to be, or looks like, the scene were Rodney was just being questioned, she came in, and was allowed to look in his mind… But the next part doesn’t agree with that theory. Or, maybe the part where they went to the launch bay and where she felt the Queen again, and he answered a question he’d already answered… Hmm.
So, have we seen this scene before, or not? And are the two parts of this flashback part of the same memory, or two separate sets?
It would make more sense if the ‘handing over the vial’ happened at the end, before he left her in that compound…
He had whispered something, but she could not remember the words.
*Books an ‘aaawwweee’ for later on, when we find out what it is.* :P
I already poked you if the vial contained something for Lorne, to heal him with, which wasn’t the case, but will we be seeing another scene between him and Teyla, in the next part? Maybe where she tries to administer it to him? So we’ll get another one of those ‘how will Lorne react to having Teyla in the same room as him’ things. :P
Did she forget the breast pump? Lol. Maybe Michael was making her feel uncomfortable so she would find the vial once more, and remember?
**
"Ordinarily, I'd agree with you, Ronon," Woolsey said
Now *that*’s a scary thought! ^^
"I was under the impression that Colonel Sheppard had a good relationship with this… Todd."
*Thunk*
Yes, they say things like that on the show, too, and yes, that’s where I go all *squeee*, that they mention a ‘relationship’ between the two of them! ^^
For fun, of course.
Well, Sheppard is always the first one to ask if the guys are seeing another man… Something hidden that’s popping up every now and then?
"Would you want to risk the Daedalus on this mission?"
Please tell me you’re not going to blow up an Earth BC… I can’t stand seeing that happening! :(
“Supposing he's right; supposing this proposal of Todd's does help, what then?”
More on this in the next act, yes? I really wanna hear what he’s got to say right now!
**
"You have no need of it."
-No need of it- -no need- -need-
Yup, that’s Mikey, alright. :P
Either way, it is… interesting to see the result of it all made flesh."
Oh, he thinks Teyla’s ‘flesh’ is interesting… *g*
Or is he a scientist who’s admiring his handiwork?
"Take your hands off me," she snarled.
"Make me."
-Make me- -make me- - make me-
"Don't…" the breath came from her in a rush and she snatched another, "…Please… Michael, I want…"
“Don’t… take your hands away from me…”
”…Please… Michael, I want… you to keep on touching me all over…”
Thunk.
She gripped the blanket beside her tightly in one hand, and the hand resting beside her face closed into a fist.
Are we trying to hold on to him, m’dear? *g*
*Reads their half mating dance*
"Good," he murmured, hardly out of breath,
Is he approving of her fighting techniques, skills, her strength, her speed?
*Reads the completion of the half mating dance*
*Watches everybody getting jealous of Teyla’s ‘situation’… *cough*
"What are we," he took a breath, "to do?"
Oh, er, here’s a thought: charge!
"Michael… Michael!"
Wow, he can do that from a distance… ^^
But on the other hand… *Thinks of the guards* Shhhht…
Just as suddenly her room was full of light and sound.
See? There they are. Now, let’s hope they misinterpreted that, and thought you were screaming out his name in a *different* kind of way. Yes. You’ll need it.
So, questions after this part of the chapter? Did they wire her room yet? Do they have camera’s hidden away yet? Should have provided some interesting show for Hollick, then… Or whichever of those marines is watching her, this time.
Need I say that this was a *very*, er, *informative* section. *g*

Re: Enmity - Act 2: review part 3
Date: 2008-10-16 11:15 pm (UTC)What he whispered will come up later... I promise. You'll see the vial again soon.
Why is it scary that Woolsey should agree with Ronon.
Daedalus *kaboom* ?
You get to hear of what Todd proposes is act 3, yes. Whether it gets very far is another matter entirely.
Interesting questions you ask about Michael. You know, it's a damn good job I wasn't drinking my cocoa when I read your review part 3... lol... making me slip back into the gutter - I'm only just through climbing out of it....
Michael is a very talented hybrid... and you'll see how they interpretted her calling out Michael's name at the beginning of act 3.
Room wired? Cameras? Would they do that to her? LOL
Re: Enmity - Act 2: review part 3
Date: 2008-10-17 05:47 pm (UTC)But I did book my 'aawwee' already, just to make sure, should I have needed it there.
It just sounded scary, lol. Ronon = blasting without thinking, so... Woolsey needs to think a lot to be able to run Atlantis. Which he isn't good at, the running part.
Yes, don't kaboom the Daedalus. I still hurt from losing the Prometheus.
Yes, that silly gutter. I don't even pretend to crawl out of it any more! *g*
'Talented' indeed. Is there anything he doesn't plan? Poor Teyla, if this is going to be the 'seduction'. Can't really resist that, can you?
Yes. Mikey part 2. Oh, and does she sleep naked, or not? Lol. Poor Mikey.
