Many years ago now, I first went to Thanksgiving dinner with Mir and her family, and met many of her family including Martha and Barry. This was back before I was used to the 'accent,' and mistakenly, I thought his name was Berry - that is, until I saw it written on something that was stuck to the refrigerator with a magnet. Boy did I feel silly. I guess it's just a good job I hadn't actually addressed him by name up to that point.

Today at school there was a spelling test for the children. One of the words they had to spell was 'berries.' I sat marking the test during a breaktime, and one of the children had written the word, 'barries.' It made me smile, and remember the story I've just told.
