Title: Chain of Command
Rating: R (mature readers)
Spoilers: Set after The Last Man so spoilers for S1-4 and the beginning of S5.
Summary: When the IOA replaces Carter as the head of the Atlantis Expedition, and the first thing that happens is the alienation of long standing allies, in spite of Sheppard's best efforts, trouble can't be far behind. Woolsey's command is given a baptism of fire when the Alpha team is ambushed off world, and hampered by a lack of intel they truly are on their own.
Disclaimer: MGM own Stargate: Atlantis. This story is for entertainment purposes only and no revenue is being made from copyright material. No infrigement intended.

Episode 1 (Harm's Way) and Act One and Two of Episode 2 (Chain of Command) available here.

Personal Notes: Mostly a general story, but heavy references to Michael and Teyla scattered through the episode. Can't say much more without giving too much away :)

Alright. A bit of comment. Let's see what we can do... :P

***

Sheppard

I know Woolsey's being a total ass, but being so disrespectful towards him, isn't going to help much for later on. Although, maybe Woolsey will never listen, otherwise... Meh.

***

Woolsey

"and anyway, Colonel, wouldn't that in actual fact be a good thing?"

"Letting millions of people die?"

"Ensuring that Michael has the capacity to destroy the Wraith."

*Shakes head*

I can't believe he just said that. As if he can control Michael's actions and just let him get rid of the Wraith. It doesn't work like that.

*Shoots Woolsey*

^^

***

Miran/Lisstha

Dang, he's dead already. Killed by his precious 'angel'? Lol.

Did Lisstha bite the dust yet? *g*

Those two definitely didn't last long. Ah well.

***

Keller

You go, girl!

They're all fighting so hard to make sure Woolsey doesn't become/stay the ass he was in the alternate timeline, lol. Good to see.

***

The village

Hmm, the 'mystic box' was a comm device for the relay station that Todd uses to contact Atlantis? Very odd.

If the 'Angel' was Todd, or even an acquaintance of his, then setting up a rebellion, or a battle, to make them flee is a nice way to maneuver those people into Atlantis.

Or whomever did it, might thought it was convenient.

Now, the question is: whom is the 'Angel' and what is he doing there?

***

As he did so, the self satisfied look faded from his face, to be replaced by a shocked expression of disbelief.

Bwahahahaha! Familiar indeed!

Got rid of one people, the next one moves in. Poor Woolsey.

Argh, Ynek's story is for the next part. Maybe we'll be given some more details then? :P

I'm surprised we haven't had a description of those Haradian Warriors... ^^

Next time?

***

That's about all I can come up with for now.

Enjoy writing the next Act!

Sheppard is just really ticked off that the IOA replaced Carter with a dick (*grin*) like Woolsey, who knows nothing of what he's dealing with.

Woolsey is just exceptionally niave. I think... when he comes to see Michael a little more, and understand what a dangerous genius he is, he might change his tune a little bit.

Miran was never long for the world, unfortunately - Lisstha /might/ last a little longer. She's not dead yet. But of course that all depends on the evolution of the story. It's turned out to be far more 'arcish' than I had intended. Go figure. LOL

Keller's fed up with people thinking she's a whimp. Yeah, she's terrified, yeah she's /waaaay/ out of her depth, but she /does/ have something about her - has to have to have gotten where she is today.

The 'Angel'
Was I deliberately ambiguous enough?

As for the refugees - I like to play with referencing what has gone before in a lot of ways... it makes for interesting conundrums sometimes. You get a little more information about what's being going on, and you will get to see the Haradian warriors and people, a little toward the end of act 3, and certainly in act 4.

I am very nearly finished with the writing of act 3. You might get to see it within the next few days. :) What can I say...? I was hit by inspiration.

Oh yes, that's the right word for him. But on the other hand, some of it might proved to have been not too exaggerated, some day... Like you already said.

***

'When he comes to *see* Michael a little more...'

See? Woolsey's going to *see* him? *g* Yay! Invasion! :P

***

More arcish = good! Now people have to read ALL the stories if they wanna follow it. *g*

By the way, I kicked Alauralen yet again, cos she still has to read it. I told her there was a certain UST M/T scene I couldn't get passed... Hehe. Hopefully that'll inspire her to start reading. Yay!

***

Ah, the Angel... Yeah. It's a strange part in the story, lol.

I guess someone who's never seen a Wraith before, a full one, that is, could see them as Angels. They have long blond hair, golden eyes, pale skins, neat coats, technology the simple ones don't understand, they speak properly and are smarter than peasants... As long as they don't now what their (mostly) right hand is for, it's easy to fool a person, right? Not that it absolutely has to be a Wraith, an alike creature might also do the job... Lol.

***

Oh, that's great! I look forward to that.

***

Send along, no problem at all! :P

Should I check my mailbox yet? *g*

Yeah the whole, 'black and white' thing doesn't really wash with changing just one thing fixes everything. Might lead to a whole /new/ set of troubles. *grin*

***

It's not beyond the bounds of possibilities that Woolsey will get to 'see' Michael.

***

You really want people to read it. :) Thank you.

Which UST M/T scene are you referring to that you couldn't get past, and why couldn't you get past it. I'm curious.

***

The angel is not a wraith. I'll give you that one for free. :)

Alauralen was going to *try* to read Act 1 of HW, but she's finally been working on her own story again, well, that's actually done now, but she's started university on computer, I think, so she's somewhat busy...

But I'll get her to read it if it's the last thing I do... ^^

About that scene: it's the one with Rodney out of order, of course. :o Aka the one that has all the touches. *g*

Not that there's much actual touching, but, ya know, the possibilities is probably more the thing that, ya know, makes it special. Or something like that. :P

Plus there's the 'what happened when they first met? *g*

***

Ah well... On to the next theory. Chaya? Lol.

I actually saw your post on GW the other day, thanks for that. Remind me which story Alauralen has written?

Ah yes, /that/ scene. Took an age to write. Most of the M/T scenes do, probably because I stress over getting them 'right' Obviously I'm going to have to go back and read that again before I start on Enmity.

***

Well by now you know the identity of the mysterious 'angel' *grin* Don't you feel special?

***

Must start working on the summary for Mantle

No problem.

Alauralen, she wrote *goes to look it up* the one shot "The Conception," and "Admissions," the chaptered sequel.

It needs an update or 10, urgently... ^^

Jen ([livejournal.com profile] gypsy_morph), a friend of hers, did update her Todd/Mia story by the name of "The Distant Journey," but of course it's an evil cliffie... *ded*

***

Yup, *that* scene. *g* It was a really good one. And the 'hiding their emotions' part really fit well with what we know know from "The Queen," so yay!

***

Oh yes, I feel *very* special. Muahahaha. I must say Act 3 is *very* interesting, and I'm looking forward to what parts of it get tied up in Acts 4 and 5, and what 'problems' might get taken into the next episode...

The cliffie is evil, that I can tell you! (Or probably confirm.) :D

Hopefully, you'll have it back today, if not that, then tomorrow. I didn't find much in it yet, so... ^^

***

Yes, you have to work on that little summary. I'm looking forward to it. Darn, you said something about it to me already, and I forgot! :o Ah well, I'll be surprised again, then. :P

Ah, yes, see I knew the name rang a bell. I've been reading her story - when I'm not writing. Haven't read Jen's though.

I like writing evil cliffies... what can I say. Speaking of teasing, you should go to the main Atlantis page on the website. There's a banner there I think you'll like. Still working on the summary though.

Wait, you *like* evil cliffies, and then you want me to go check out that possible Michael/Todd thing? Hmm, I shouldn't go, really...

*Caves*

Oh. :) Pwetty. :P

I'll send the story back later on. I got tired yesterday.

Yeah, I said I like writing evil cliffies. :) I'm just so mean. Still I'm glad you like it - the banner I mean. No problem on the story, that's fine. I can always try writing act 4 & 5.
