Back from the hospital...

For those of you that don't know, I was admitted to Leicester Royal Infirmary on Monday for a severe infection in my left thumb. I posted about how my thumb was infected earlier in the journal. I'd given myself a few days before I'd consider going to Casualty (the ER for our foreign friends) to have it looked I. I /expected/ that they would just lance it, clean it and send me on my way. Nope! The nice doctors decided that I needed I.V. antibiotics and so took me into the hospital. Of course they also /did/ slice open the top of my thumb and clean it out... made a right old mess of it. I'm sure it will scar very nicely. Oh well...

Anyway, I'm home now, still taking massive doses of drugs for another seven days - two different antibiotics... pretty much the same that they were giving me in hospital, only in tablet form (and not quite as much. I was getting 2g 4xdaily in the hospital). I'm just glad to be out of there...

Itching...

It's itching today under the dressing, which is supposed to mean that it's healing. I do feel better, just a little washed out with all the sweeties... so to speak.
