erverFrom The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have.
I have also found myself from time to time unable to stay in the feeling of a moment…
Sunday – I had a great deal of trouble with this one today, because my day was actually crisis free, no narrowing of eyes, no snarling of tigers, in fact, I really and truly enjoyed myself.
I spent a lot of it reading Mir's Enterprise story, which I have been looking forward to ever since… well since she started it really. It has a fabulous angle, is an amazing retelling and looking inside a particular character's head/emotions and fits so seamlessly with the episode (and makes me want to watch Enterprise again).
I guess the only slip out of the moment I had was in not reaching my word count for today – but… *grins* I had a good reason not to. I was reading! Seriously though, I was only 200 words or so short, and that I can easily catch up tomorrow.
And when we squint, we think we see like a tiger, while the truth like the sun spills everywhere but through our slits.

Date: 2011-11-12 07:04 pm (UTC)I'd like to get back to a creative writing exercise thing with you... I'd like to do the creative writing part together and the editing part together... We do each other's homework and our own, the stuff we give out. Maybe in putting those things together, we'll come up with something totally new like After.. (or whatever you call it, I just see the lion every time... gee, I wonder why.)
I'd like to do something each month, rather than try and cram exercises into days and weeks. Make some kind of challenge where each exercise we do each day leads to a written story or whatever at the end of the month. I think it'd be good. Don't know that I'd want a word count restriction on it though, as I've said before I don't do connect the plots.

Date: 2011-11-12 09:27 pm (UTC)I'd /love/ to get back to the creative writing exercise thing together. It's so inspirational - and yeah, Life After, I love that you helped me find that premise, and the butterfly thing too. So we should do this as you said, and see what we come up with.
I like the idea of doing something each month. It much better not to be pressured by cramming too much in. I think we should do it. :)

Date: 2011-11-12 09:43 pm (UTC)One of the last assignment I did, I wrote a piece about someone going out into the ocean to wait for the butterfly to come and carry them off... or watching someone else having that happen to them... I'll have to find it now.
