Until the people who do sims social acknowledge the people playing the game and /fix/ the bugs that we report, I'm leaving the game alone. I hate to say it, but it's true. Once in a while I'll go and try it out to see if the problem is resolved, but it never is. And nowhere have I found a post by an admin saying "Here's how you get around this."
