Convocation: Act 2 - Review part 1
Date: 2011-07-06 10:53 am (UTC)Finding space to land a single Hive was bad enough, but five, splayed out in a star-like pattern, bows to centre, was a feat he did not care to over-think. Nor was the tense orbital standoff of ten supporting cruisers, all – if the other commanders had given similar orders that he had given his own support ships – with their weapons carefully targeted on one Hive or another in a position that would cause the most damage.
Probably something stupid to comment on, but maybe it would be interesting to see them all fire at the same time at the Hives. Which one would get hit most?
The Shadow Queen stood a full head shorter than the others, almost entirely shrouded by the fall of grey from the hooded robe she wore.
From the description, the Shadow Queen is very intriguing. Will we be seeing more of her later on in the story?
Later, it’s said that she’s the oldest. Is she the one closest, perhaps, to the Mother and the mission Malcolm was sent out on? If he were to find sympathy with one of the Elder Queens, it would be her, right?
Now, the Shadow Queen wouldn’t happen to be the mother herself, right? Since she’s not showing herself? You never know. She calls the others sluts, so perhaps that’s why she hides her body, they would see who she was. Or she just has bad burns that don’t seem to heal, who knows.
For a minute there I was confused in the bit of scene were Malcolm found out the Red Queen’s commanding son met the Ancient Ones, but that’s of course part of the scene from that facility visit he did. And the Red Queen wasn’t too happy with that cryptic message, right? Or the visit didn’t pay off much.
(+your warnings do not concern me… your treachery, Traitor, does+)
And that would be Todd, then. Not Michael as I first thought.
It’s Todd that sought out those Ancient Ones so they could aid him with his purpose. Hmm, those pre-Wraiths that Todd left with, will we be seeing soon what they are? Does it have anything to do with the remark that the Red Queen breeds ‘Queen-killers’? Are they something we should be thinking about more? Is the young queen that Todd has one of them, or does the term refer to males? Or perhaps the young queen’s mother, the one from that device a while back, is such a killer?
Todd is lurking about. Is the Elder Queen aware of this, was he asked to do as such, or is he there in secrecy because he wants to know what’s going on, what’s been decided, plus then there’s his expected guest arriving… I don’t think he’s going to be feeding Sheppard to the Wraith.
It was time to find another way, another place to be… another place to hide… another Queen.
Hide? From what, or whom? Silly girl still isn’t talking.

Date: 2011-07-11 09:17 am (UTC)You have a very warped sense of humour, my friend. *grin*
Yes, the Shadow QUeen will turn up again... and no she's not the Matron.
Yes the Red Queen's son met the Ancient Ones in the facility.
(+your warnings do not concern me… your treachery, Traitor, does+)
And that would be Todd, then. Not Michael as I first thought.
It would be neither Todd nor Michael. He's talking to Malcolm at the time, so...
Not sure how soon we'll be seeing the Ancient Ones, or the result of what Todd left with them. The rest of this paragraph confused me:

No one yet knows that Todd's lurking. Malcolm will be the first.
Jethera is hiding, yes... she is hiding the truth
Convocation: Act 2 - Review part 2
Date: 2011-07-06 10:54 am (UTC)He had done what he had to do in order to ensure survival, evolution, but now the very changes he had fought so hard to make prevented him from providing the woman before him with something she so sorely needed. He let out a faint sound, a huff against the bitter irony of it all, and reaching out carefully once more, brushed the fine strands of hair away from Teyla's face.
Prevented was not… entirely true. There was another way, but… it was unsettling to him, such contact – at such a time – he baulked at it only in concern for her.
Now, that ‘another way’ wouldn’t be by uploading information, would it? *grin* A male in general would be all for that, but if it doesn’t cure her enough, not in one go, and if he loses too much time uploading, that’s just not productive, right? :P
Teyla tensed in anticipation of the expected jolt; the transport ship landed as softly as down alighting on a gilded cushion and Michael turned his head her way, eyebrow cocked in amused query. She shook her head.
He stepped down from the control station, and turning to her, offered his hand in invitation to join him as he made his way toward the ship's exit. Others fell into step behind them as she rested her hand over his; walked at his side.
I just wanted to quote this section to say that I love these little moments between them, their smiles at each other, and then the touching of the arm.
Only when she was on her knees in the dust of the laboratory floor did Michael moved closer to crouch before her and take a handful of her hair into his fist to pull back her head.
"Would you like me to try harder…" he snarled softly, "…Captain?"
Aha! Looks like Michael did indeed get everything he wanted from Miss Vega. And you know what? I’m not going to let myself doubt which one is the original: the one that Todd has, or Michael, because Michael’s all about cloning. All his experiments, or most of them, were clones, and Todd really just needs to have the original one. There.

Date: 2011-07-11 09:20 am (UTC)Is this some clever inuendo? :D I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. LOL
I love those sweet little moments between the two of them too. Hopefully more to come - amid the inevitable fights.
Do you know you're only one of two readers who correctly identified the 'captain'? I'm astounded... but yes...
Will the real Alicia Vega please step forward!
Convocation: Act 2 - Review part 3
Date: 2011-07-06 10:55 am (UTC)The cancer that Haddad has, or rather had, that wasn’t true, right? Or did the virus she was given (Wraith cells) react badly and she did get cancer, or a cancer-like disease?
She’s been in so much pain, and those people in Atlantis don’t even know their own people were behind it, that’s sad. Perhaps it’ll come out after all.
In any other nightmare but the Pegasus Galaxy, it would have been impossible, she would never have seen what she was seeing – engorged veins, spreading, invading tissues reaching way beyond the uterine wall.
Yeah, okay, that sounds scary. While it’s practically impossible to get that fetus out now, what will it be like when she’s carried it to term? Will all that tissue just magically go away, or will Keller’s life still be in danger during, and perhaps after the birth?
The change that came over her was startling. She tried to dart away, and fought the airman that caught hold of her and restrained her. The tension in her entire being was clearly visible, and in her voice, as audible as a thunder clap.
Whoa, Jethera really doesn’t want to go to Atlantis. Now, is that because she knows she’ll be a kind of prisoner over there, only to be used to get information from, and she has a lot of that, probably, or because she’s really not *allowed* over there by the other Ascended beings? Heh. My theory can still stand!
Will she be thrown out of Atlantis in a flare of light the moment her shoes hit the floor right in front of the Gate? Would be funny to witness.
Acting on automatic, he wrapped his arms around the figure, bearing them both to the ground, and then rolling to put himself on top, just as the retort of Ronon's weapon split the air twice in quick succession – dropping the pursing Wraith into the ashes at the base of a nearby tree.
Sheppard on top of Jethera? That’s it, for me it’s confirmed that she’s an Ancient/Ascended being! He can say he was on top of about every Ascended inhabitant of Pegasus so far. :-)
Spikey

Date: 2011-07-11 09:23 am (UTC)Oh, it will all come out - but not as people would think.
Keller's life is very much in danger - start to finish.
Nope, Jetheral doesn't want to go to Atlantis... all will be revealed.
