From The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have.

Throughout all the ten regions of the Universe there is no place where the Source is not.
-Hakuin

How often do we lose sight of what we're really after, insisting on all or nothing, when there is so much abundance wherever we are and so many opportunities that can help us on our way?

As both a 'recovering perfectionist' and someone who deals very badly with disappointment, this is something that I think about quite often. I'm learning to deal with the 'all or nothing' attitude with things I do, with things that happen in life… learning to accept the opportunities that life offers my way and to make the most of those that are not quite what I had been reaching for; to celebrate those opportunities that come my way, that while unexpected are a great blessing.

A great blessing that unexpectedly came my way in the last couple of weeks was the exchange that Mir and I have now begun. She gives me writing inspiration, little prompts to follow – assignments if you will, and I help her with the technical stuff. It's been working very well for me, and I'm feeling very inspired, and have actually written more in the last few days than I have in a very long time – not just on the prompts. The other day I managed to do about 3,000 words of another story, because my creativity was so switched on.

And something I'm making the most of… I've accepted an assignment of working for 3 half days per week until the summer. It's not the best, but at least it's work, and it still leaves me two whole days, and three more half days (assuming the other half day were within travelling distance).

Also, in the category of 'make lemonade' – since I can't find an outlet for a story I've written. I really like the story and the concept, and have decided to include it in an anthology of short stories that I'm going to put together.

What was it you'd written? One of the prompts?

I did one of the prompts, I also did a couple of thousand words of backstory for Nik in Use'ara... my brain is just switched on again. I think :)
