The Possessed...

I can't remember if I've spoken about this before, on here, but the shower at our house is possessed. Some days, you can happily take a wonderful hot shower with the power setting on high and the temperature set to around 5. Some days, you can do the same thing, and be scalded to death and need to turn the setting down to around 3... and then there are the days when, even with the setting turned up as far as it will go, the shower is still cold, and you know what? It's been getting worse.

So, mum told me that she'd cleaned the shower head and that now the shower was working just fine. I went to take a shower, expecting that around number 4 or 5 would be great... Mum said the shower was fixed, right?

Wrong!

Even after turning the temperature up as far as it would go, the water was still barely luke warm. Had no choice but to take a shower though, needed to go to work... so cold shower later, I set out into the snowy frigid morning.

When I got home this evening I said to my mum, 'You know you said the shower was fixed, it didn't work for me.' only to have her tell me that the shower she'd taken just a little while before mine was 'lovely and hot'

I can only come to the conclusion that whatever demon is inhabiting our shower, HATES me and only me!

It's not the shower that's haunted. It's the freaking water heater system, wherever that is. My old one did the scalding/freezing water thing. There's a name for that in the world of plumbing--something that sounds like 'stratification'--but I can't recall now.

Now if you live in an apartment house, then someone might be using the hot water at the same time, and again, something in the plumbing or the heater is inadequate to take the load.

Also, it sounds like it's a heater thermostat and controls issue.

Could be one of many things...
