He Looked So Lonesome...
Apr. 7th, 2009 02:51 amToday, we went to the pet store to buy litter and food for the rats, and as we are accustomed to do, we looked to see if there were any little ratties. There was one, all by himself and he looked so lonesome...
We agonised over it for a while, because we lost Danger just the other day, very unexpected and we're all very sad, still. Anyway, in the end we decided that it wouldn't be replacing him, because this little guy needed a home. This wasn't until we'd already left the store, gone to another one, and then came back to get the little guy.
When we were signing the paperwork Phil Collins' "Take me home," was playing on the store music system, followed by "Save me," Yeah we were meant to bring this little guy home... so we're here with our new baby, who we named Halling - after the Athosian from Stargate Atlantis... silent and strong, just like the new baby.
