Because I'm procrastinating...

cedar_groveAnd not doing anything that I could, or should, be doing, here I am posting in LJ because I haven't updated in a long while.
I'm having a great time here in NC. Cleaning up is very theraputic, and walking in the woods early (ish) in the morning to go feed Henry is a treat, because I get to see all kinds of wildlife, the deer, rabbits, the squirrels of course. It's been very nice, but still it will also be nice to have that one responsibility lifted when Debbie gets back. Poor Henry, he misses his people, and no matter how much love we give to him, we're just not them. For all that he's stinky, he's very sweet.
The trip to Luray was good fun, I was as amazed this time 'down in the hole' as I was last time and hopefully Kira had a good time too. Rainbow Hill was just as we remembered it, well not exactly, they had moved things around a little bit, but the same atmosphere, the same cool stuff... very nice trip. Thank you to everyone involved.
We're just about sorted out now for Vegas, which is in a few days... I've just ordered the tickets and things which, provided the order goes through - and from my online statement it looks as though it has even though the specifics have not yet shown up - we should be able to do all the things we want to do in there. I'm looking forward to the trip. Quite excited. :) We missed Vegas last year, and yes we *miss* Vegas, if that makes any kind of sense.
Maybe I should just stop rambling and go and get on with the science planning that I'm avoiding. Not because I don't want to do it - I do - just not in the mood right now. Mind you, I'm not sure that I /am/ in the mood for. Maybe I'll go and read some. (No not 'reed' - there's a 'freudian slip' if ever I saw one).
The weekend is ahead... Yay!
