cedar_grove | How Things Work Out Sometimes.

I was about to leave the house this morning when my phone rang. It was one of the assistant heads from school saying that the other assistant head's son was still sick, so she wouldn't be coming to school, and that I should dress ready to go with the gifted and tallented kids to the woods on a field trip. This was very nice... nice morning in the woods, doing woodsy/sciency things... then PPA time in the afternoon. (That's time out of class for teachers to do their planning, and stuff), and of course tomorrow I am working with our science advisor for the day. So it meant that my week was petty much at an end as far as the children were concerned. And while I love the kids and working with them, this week... I just welcome the break from them.

The woods were amazing... if a little muddy. We looked at different kinds of woodland... did lots of activities in the wood - drank hot chocolate... and generally had a wonderful time. It was a very worthwhile field trip.
