Another Thought for Today
Oct. 3rd, 2006 01:10 amWe wouldn't normally post something 'overly or obviously religious' but this seems to be exempt because it's such a universal principle, even if the quote is from the Bible (and because it's a quote from Paul's letters to the Corinthians, we're even more surprised we like it). But we were given the school's behaviour policy in the staff meeting today, and on the cover was the following quote...
Love is patient, and kind, without envy. It is not boastful or arrogant. It is not ill-mannered nor does it seek its own interest. Love overcomes anger and forgets offences. It does not take delight in wrong, but rejoices in truth. Love excuses everything, believes all things, endures all things.
...We're missing people terribly right now. Maybe that's why it struck us so much and why we were moved by it. Dunno... only know that it was something that moved us today.

It helps not to read it as "Love is patient, and kind, without ivy."
