Interesting process
Jul. 26th, 2005 09:15 amCurrently waiting on ticketmaster to get back to me for companion seating for disabled access. They have to email me, so I wonder how long that will take. If they haven't got back to me by lunchtime I'm going to call the venue itself now that I have the telephone number. I have a feeling this is going to get complicated before too long... but it's well worth it. :)
(Mood is due to the computer, not anything else. Had to grab cody into t/o today because had a unmountable drive error... which was interesting as once we got it to start in safe mode, the diagnostics all reported that the drive was just fine. It baffling... it really is and any suggestions would be more than welcome... (as Cody /really/ doesn't like/know Windows all that well), Dave?)

Date: 2005-07-26 01:43 pm (UTC)Your best bet is probably to look up the harddrive in your device manager
(Quickly checking, Control Panel->System->Hardware->device manger under XP)
And see what the Harddisk is (make/model/etc). Failing that, open up the case, look at the harddisk physically and check out the make/model that way. Then have a scoot around the internet (www.driverguide.com perhaps) and see if you can pick up any drivers for it.
Having said all that, how much of the drive can you actually see in safe-mode? If it's not /all/ of it, it could be down to the motherboard or OS only being able to see partitions of X amount, and it being formatted larger than that.
If you don't need the data on that partition/drive, it might be possible to reformat that partition/drive and use it that way?
Basically, first port of call, look the drive up, see if there are pre-existing issues known about online with that drive and your OS/Motherboard setup, and take things from there.
