Right now we find ourselves in an awkward position. More so than ever before a first impression leaves us finding it difficult to be fair and maintain an open mind about someone we've met.

And more and more, because of that first impression, we're finding that every little thing this person says and does irritates us... no more than that, it absolutely gets our hackles up.

And it's not fair to this person, who is probably a very lovely person, whom some of us would more than likely get along with really well, but for the way the person in question came to our attention. And we're sorry - but we just can't shake it. We've tried and tried, but still, we see, we hear, we bristle.

We're not about to go naming names, or being specific about anything, because there's no point in hurting anyone else with /our/ inability to see past our own prejudices and insecurities... Just that this bothers us.

It fills us with question and doubt.

We know where you're going with this... We understand. We had a friend once who seemingly overnight changed on us and became... Well was still a friend but the difference in personality was much too much. From a.. for lack of a better word "normal" behavior they went to a wild, unpredictable behavior that seemed like drugs or far too much pumped up soda was in them. Conversations stopped happening because they wouldn't stick to a topic and that was very frustrating. I think what was worse was that as soon as it all happened, it was like losing that friend.

Now of course we still keep in touch but the facts are never kept strait on the other end.. there's no memory of a lot of things on the other side of this either.. It's just.. Lost to us and it's not worth it to us to try and make it what it was because they're /so/ pushy. There's just too much there.
