First impressions vs being fair.
Sep. 12th, 2003 07:51 pmRight now we find ourselves in an awkward position. More so than ever before a first impression leaves us finding it difficult to be fair and maintain an open mind about someone we've met.
And more and more, because of that first impression, we're finding that every little thing this person says and does irritates us... no more than that, it absolutely gets our hackles up.
And it's not fair to this person, who is probably a very lovely person, whom some of us would more than likely get along with really well, but for the way the person in question came to our attention. And we're sorry - but we just can't shake it. We've tried and tried, but still, we see, we hear, we bristle.
We're not about to go naming names, or being specific about anything, because there's no point in hurting anyone else with /our/ inability to see past our own prejudices and insecurities... Just that this bothers us.
It fills us with question and doubt.

It's just.. Lost to us and it's not worth it to us to try and make it what it was because they're /so/ pushy. There's just too much there.
