Revelation Act 1: Review
You can call me completely stupid, but at the beginning of the Jethera/Ancients thing, I thought she actually was an Ancient herself (in present time). Perhaps a reincarnated one, or an original. Ascended? Who knows. Purpose, though?
But that’s probably totally wrong.
A rending, tearing fire that immolated every cell of her entire being, body, mind and spirit, and with a darkness gathering at the edges of her vision, helpless to do otherwise she felt herself flowing through the contact with this terrifying beast in front of her into the dark maelstrom that was the soul of the Queen.
Her failing heart pounded in her chest and—
Jethera wakes up.
She asks Malcolm why she would dream such a thing, and if not the *ahem* logical *ahem* conclusion I came to, why indeed would she?
Her mind does not conjure something like this up out of nowhere, I’d say, so either it’s implanted in her thoughts through one means, or she’s tapping into something/someone herself? Does that make sense?
No idea if I’m completely insane, though.
One question, if I may: one handmaiden, if I’m not mistaken, was described to be without a feeding mark on her unblemished chest. Was that Jethera? I take it she still looks young, because only a young one would be chosen as handmaiden? Would that imply she truly was never fed upon, or does she always get fully healed, feeding mark included, and others just don’t bother with that when they’re perhaps punishing worshippers? Or she never did anything wrong, and she’s just a curious young one. Hmm…
"Our Matron had seen a far greater danger than a simple revolution among our servants," he said, fixing her in place with his gaze as he reached for her mind…
{one that would threaten her very existence} {existence} {existence} {existence}
Is that the ‘failsafe’ that’s mentioned in the next part? The mother was supposed to die, but didn’t, or didn’t yet?
Hmm, must keep track of that thing as well.
Todd’s Hive/current situation:
Oi. It’s a good thing Kenny managed to nip the little rebellion in the bud. Todd might not have been a happy camper if he came back to see either his Second dead, or his Third. Definitely his Third.
Can’t believe he pulled that stunt with the nursing facility. No, wait, I can.
I’m happy he managed to heal Alicia. I hope to see him reunite with his Hive, soon. Oh, and will there be even more consequences for Todd regarding that shot he gave himself?
Elder Wraith Hive 2:
Is the new title correct? There’s a new Elder/Matron flying around? Is that the redhead of the meeting a while ago?
Looking forward to more.
Thanks as ever for writing.

I can tell you here already, as I will do in a further act, that I'm not going to give up the thought of Jethera being an Ancient - on a mission or just cast away - just yet. In the back of my mind the thought will go.
She might be hiding from someone? Hmm, interesting. We'll see more, later, I hope.
Kenny becoming more his own - I think that's a good thing. He needs to be on top of things with a Commander such as Todd next to him. He's of course not stupid, he can see that Todd manoeuvres in dangerous ways.
The stunt with the nursing facility was more of a 'let's send Kenny there, instead of going myself'. Probably had something to do with him being not completely informed, either. But like you said, with Kenny becoming more his own Wraith, or how to say it, maybe these things will be rarer in the future.
Still no idea what that mini-Queen of his is.
I'll be calling the second Elder Hive Red Elder Queen's Hive in the next parts. Until another red Elder Queen shows up, I guess. Perhaps I'll be lucky and there won't be a second one?
I've seen the beginning of which you speak when you say 'pain in the arse'. I bet he's not a happy camper, no.
I'm dreaming about finding the time to reread a bit here and there, and take notes. Also write down that - = Michael thing again, in my note book this time. The old paper is somewhere upstairs, I think. Maybe I should look first. ;-) So much in general to keep track of, and so many words written already. :-D
See you soon.
