It's never made clear in the text, at least not yet (we will come to see it in flashback another time I'm sure), she was sending a genuine communication to Sheppard while she and Michael were escaping the Hive. each of those little ... in the broken message represents a word. Mind you, Michael /did/ cut it close. And the Michael's Hive jumped away before the Elder Hive /finished/ exploding, but after it had begun. Can't leave before you're sure a job is done.
