Just so that everyone knows, I finally got to NC safe and sound. Just a four and a half hour delay in JFK. Finally go into RDU around 8pm.
Since then I've been having a whale of a time - first of all we went on a trip to Biltmore House, an all day trip as it turned out, because we wanted to see the house by candlelight, so we had to wait until the nighttime for that...
Of course that meant that we didn't get back until very late in the morning - like three or four in the morning, and had to get up to drive the landlady to the airport this morning. Still the trip Asheville was so wonderful, we all of us had a really great day and I got to play with the baby cow. He thought I was his mommy and tried to suckle on my hand. I never realised before how rough cows tongues are. I expected them to be smooth.

Today... oh what can I say about today, it was just amazing... We went on a date, and I'd been diverted from what we might be doing by talk of skating when we went to NYC, so I didn't know until we actually got there that this is what we were going to do. I've never been ice skating before, and so I had no idea what to expect. Well... you know that scene in Bambi, on the ice? That was me. How many times did I fall down? About 4 or 5, something like that. But from the first time out on the ice, where I had to hold on to the side all the way around - the one of the last times, where I could skate all the way around without holding on or falling down, I think I did really good. So... I've not had such fun in a /long/ while.

On the not quite so good point, I managed to twist my knee while skating and falling and stuff, so walking is quite difficult and painful right now, but I laugh... it was all so much good fun....
